About Opera Anywhere
Opera Anywhere is now 10 years old and returned to the pond in June 2010 where it all started!
Driven by a passion to perform opera, Mike & Vanessa Woodward founded 'Opera Anywhere' to tour and present innovative and imaginative productions.
Our first ever performance was on an especially erected stage on our Village Pond in Sunningwell, as part of the millennium celebrations in 2000. 'Proms On The Pond' has now become a bi-annual music and arts festival which we have developed into a cross genre celebration of music of all types including opera, folk and rock music! Our most recent festival took place in June 2010, and included a unique production of 'Pirates On The Pond' celebrating Opera Anywhere's 10th birthday with a real fun and accessible production.
Opera Anywhere have been enjoying successful tours performing in many different venues such as small theatres, village halls, gardens, concert halls, castles, manor houses, railway stations, shopping centres, corporate head offices, conference centres, ice rinks. punts and on village ponds! In 2007 Opera Anywhere appeared on ITV and on the Harvey Goldsmith Channel 4 and E4 follow up TV documentary entitled 'Get Your Act Together' and have also broadcasted live on 'In Tune' on Radio 3. Opera Anywhere's most recent engagements have included 'Opera On Punts' at the Henley festival and for the annual TED conference in July 2010. Harvey Goldsmith has been mentoring Opera Anywhere and has helped them to develop a range of corporate entertainment solutions including "Arias On Ice".
Opera Anywhere has worked with some of the UK's leading companies including Sophos, Morgan Cole Solicitors, Miele, Vickers and most recently Vodafone and actively seek discussions with corporate clients for sponsorship possibilities. Opera Anywhere have become experts at innovative opera entertainment for special occasions, wedding and parties, singing waiters, performing gardeners and even set alight computer exhibitions with live performances based around software! Opera Anywhere continue to receive great reviews from the press and Opera Anywhere now has a blog, be sure to keep up with the gossip and do send in your comments.
